One of the joys of this time of year is being able to take a long walk through the countryside, either in a country park, or along the sides of fields along the thousands of miles of dedicated public footpaths. We are so lucky in our little country, there being stiff bylaws allowing for the provision and upkeep of public footpaths – and not the pavements we see along main roads. We can just go to the nearest public gathering or on our own, taking a map out of pocket, and just follow the trails. We see all mannerof flora and forna plus all the amazing animals.
Coming back to the house or flat after a massive walk has a truly beneficial effect on the residents. With the warmth of a centrally heated place oozing out, it is difficult to get into the mood for other work apart from resting up and taking in the scene.
